Are burn permits required in the City of Abilene?
Normally, citizens are allowed to burn small piles of leaves or small limbs as long as the fire is out by sunset. Residents may obtain a burn permit by calling the Fire Department at 785-263-1121.

What is your average department response time?
Our average response time in the city is four minutes.

Does the Fire Department go on EMS calls?
In the case of a life threatening emergency, we will dispatch Dickinson County EMS to provide extra assistance. All of our on-duty personnel are trained to provide basic life support.
